If you’re overseas, you may qualify for state nomination to live and work in South Australia. This process begins by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) in SkillSelect, the Australian Government’s online platform where people can register their interest in migrating to Australia.
For the 2026-27 GSM program, South Australia will prioritise candidates working in the following industries:
- Construction
- Engineering
- Manufacturing
- Trades
- Health
- Education
High-ranking candidates in non-priority industries may also be considered.
If you have skills and experience in South Australia’s priority industries, and if your nominated occupation is eligible for the subclass 190, you may receive an invitation to apply for state nomination under the visa subclass 190. If you have skills and experience in non-priority industries, or if your nominated occupation is not eligible for the subclass 190, you may be invited to apply for state nomination under the visa subclass 491.
Work experience must be in a role deemed full-time, defined as 20 hours per week according to SkillSelect. You must also have skills in an occupation that is available on our Skilled Occupation List.
