Skills assessments for occupations under South Australia’s DAMA agreement

When may need a skills assessment for your nominated worker

If you have an executed Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) with the Australian Government, you may need a skills assessment for your nominated worker.

Skilled and Business Migration, acting as South Australia’s Designated Area Representative (DAR), is authorised to assess skills for certain occupations that are non-ANZSCO specified or not listed on the national Skilled Occupation List.

Who can request a DAR skills assessment?

You can apply if:

  • Your business has an executed DAMA Labour Agreement from the Department of Home Affairs
  • You have identified a nominee for an occupation listed on South Australia’s DAMA Occupation List

DAR skills assessment process

Step 1: Labour agreement executed

  • Your DAMA Labour Agreement is executed
  • You identify the nominee

Step 2: Submit your assessment

  • You submit a DAR skills assessment application on behalf of your nominee using the online portal
  • Skilled and Business Migration will assess your nominee’s qualifications and experience
  • If successful, a skills assessment outcome will be issued to you as the employer
