An update on Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMAs)

Thank you for your continued interest in South Australia’s Skilled and Business Migration programs, and Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMAs).

The Australian Government recently announced that the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) will increase to $76,515 from 1 July 2025.

Due to the significant increase in DAMA applications this program year, Skilled and Business Migration (SBM) requires South Australian employers to apply for endorsement under the South Australian DAMAs by 11.59pm (ACDT) on Monday 9 June 2025 to be considered against the current TSMIT (2024/25) requirements. Applications submitted must be complete, and not missing any documentation as per our document checklist.

Applicants lodged after 9 June 2025 will need to reflect the new TSMIT requirements, which will include Labour Market Testing at the new TSMIT requirements. These applications will not be considered under the old TSMIT requirements.
