Frequently asked questions about online applications

While there are a number of steps involved in creating and managing your online application, we want to make the process as simple and clear as possible.

These frequently asked questions cover:

  • Creating a user account
  • Activating your account
  • Compatible browsers
  • Acceptable file types
  • Document size limits
  • Resetting your password
  • If this is your first time using our Portal, you will need to select a registration type to create a new account. If you have been notified of your registration by Skilled & Business Migration, please follow the instructions in the section below regarding activating your account.
  • Enter your details, email address and click Register Now.
  • You will receive an email with a link provided to confirm and activate your registration. Confirm your registration via the link in the email immediately.
  • The link will direct you to your portal account. You will be prompted to create a password for security purposes.

If you did not receive the email to activate your portal account, please click HERE and enter your registered email address to resend the email.

  • You will receive an activation email to the address supplied in your application.  This email will contain a link to confirm and activate your registration. Confirm your registration via the link in the email immediately.
  • The link will direct you to your portal account. You will be prompted to create a password for security purposes.
  • If you did not receive the email to activate your portal account, please click HERE and enter your email address to resend the email.

This system is accessible from a range of browsers. Compatible browsers are Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge. Note the system supports N, N-1, N-2 versions of the browsers (where N is the current release). Please ensure you refresh your cache by pressing Ctrl and F5 at the same time to ensure you are viewing the most up to date version of each form.

Only the following document file types are acceptable for uploading:

  • GIF
  • JPG
  • PNG
  • PDF
  • TIF 

Please Note: Word documents are not accepted.

Documents cannot be larger than 4Mb per file. If your documents are larger than this, save the document as a PDF or reduce the resolution to minimize the file size.  Limiting the number of documents uploaded for each question will also reduce the chance of limitation issues.

Further information:

  • resolution of the scan should be maximum 300 dpi
  • size of the scan should be maximum A4.

As long as you know your email address you can reset your password:

  • select 'Forgotten your password?' and follow the instructions.

This can also be used if you have incorrectly set up your account and need to reset your password.

You will receive emails from Skilled & Business Migration throughout the nomination, visa grant and post-arrival stages. The purpose of the emails is to inform you of the next step of the process or alert you to a change in application status. These emails will be sent to the mailbox linked to your registration and may differ from the email submitted in your application. Please follow any instructions requested in these emails.
