State nomination minimum wage requirements

Immigration SA wishes to remind applicants about skilled work experience requirements when applying for state nomination.

In order to qualify for state nomination, you must meet all nomination requirements relevant to your situation and occupation.

Any Australian skilled work experience claimed in your state nomination application must be paid at the appropriate rate for the skill level required (and meet any minimum award pay rates that apply to that industry).

Immigration SA will not approve any state nomination applications claiming Australian skilled work experience paid below minimum wage rates. Further information outlining minimum wages in Australia can be viewed on the Fair Work website.

The Fair Work Ombudsmen has a letter and factsheet specifically for international students outlining work rights and minimum pay rates in Australia.
